Fitting perfectly into Studio 3's cornerstones of eco-consciousness and community outreach, Viva Verde is a summer work program for youth 12-24 in the Austin community which provides them with a 5 week employment opportunities in sustainability and green living. Participants will walk away with valuable work-based learning and work-readiness training. Viva Verde is a Goodwill program funded by the Workforce Solutions Capital Area through Workforce Investment Act (WIA) funds from the Recovery Act of 2009. We look forward to sharing the art of screen printing with the youth, by training them to create there own uniforms for the project. In a park full of folks celebrating and promoting the green movement through sustainable design, consumption and art - be provided guests with the opportunity to show their support for the earth by screen printing the official earth day logo or one of our popular green designs (including the popular Recyle or Die!). Thanks to efforts by Austin Green Art we were able to print the design on a variety of vintage shirts as well as on items provided by our patrons.
